Course Deadline and Default Dates
As a reminder you may enter dates for three terms at the same time on the
Course Data Entry (CDE) form. Because students start searching at least one term
in advance, the default dates are the preferred guidelines to follow.
Activation/Entry Deadline Dates:
| Fall Term: |
|
August 1 |
| Spring Term: |
|
December. 15 |
| Summer Term: |
|
May 1 |
Activation/Entry Deadline Dates: These are the dates by which all courses
should be activated for the term. In other words by August 1 all Fall Term
courses should be activated. Please remember that activation of courses by
Electronic Campus staff can take several days after entry if all information is
correct, and longer if data must be corrected by an institutional coordinator.
This should be kept in mind when working towards the above deadlines. After
August 30, the staff priority rolls to activating Spring term courses, but Fall
term courses will continue to be activated as the student is able to search for
an academic year using search-by-date and this will allow the student to know
what may be offered the upcoming year.
Term Default Dates:
| Fall Term Default Date: |
|
June 1 |
| Spring Term Default Date: |
|
October 15 |
| Summer Term Default Date: |
|
March 15 |
What does Term Default mean? If a student performs a search using the
participating list of colleges and universities or searches from a
college virtual tour
(http://www.electroniccampus.org/CampusTour/) on a date between June 1 and
October 14, Fall courses will automatically be the default display. Because of
this, the term default dates above are the ideal
dates for having courses entered and activated for the upcoming term - because
students start searching at least one term in advance.
If courses are being sent via a feed process, the default dates are preferred
for the target dates files are received from the sender.
