Adult Learning Campaign
Featured Facts for Adult Learning
Campaign “Design Lab”
This report was prepared from a variety of national and regional data for
participants in the Adult Learning Campaign “Design Lab” meeting. The Featured
Facts complement data in the
SREB
Fact Book for Higher Education and have been built around the three
priority populations or segments of adult learners targeted in this Lumina
Foundation project. These categories are:
-
Adults ages 18 to 24, with at least a ninth-grade education but
with no high school diploma, who are capable and ready to earn a GED
credential and can
then move to attaining additional training (work force development) or some
postsecondary education.
-
Adults ages 25 to 44, with at least a ninth-grade education up to
some college, who may need the GED credential and/or courses to develop skills needed
to pursue postsecondary certificates, diplomas or degree programs.
-
Adults of any age, with an associate's degree or higher,
seeking to advance their postsecondary education via supplemental courses
(both credit and noncredit), certificates or degree programs at any level.
